Everybody Produces, Twins Win

The Minnesota Twins came into Wednesday's game with the chance to win their 6th straight game in a row, and they did just that with the help of more good pitching and some veteran leadership. The pitching came from Brad Radke who went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs (2 solo HR's), 4 hits, and striking out 4 batters. On Thursday Radke may have had his best outing of the year, only 4 hits is pretty good, and except for two pitches he pitched a scoreless and almost hitless game.

The veteran leadership came from a player who has been slumping and hurt for most of the season. Rondell White. While he hit his first HR of the season on Sunday many people are still saying he isn't good enough or that the Twins don't need him. Well I got news for those people, when Radke gave up that HR to Norton in the top of the second Rondell was the one to respond and tie up the game, then in the fifth inning he was the one to get the rally started and the Twins never looked back. On the game Rondell hit 2 HR's and had a total of 3 hits. Punto got more hits as he got his second triple in two nights after leaving the game on Monday, Bartlett also got a triple his second of the year. Mauer went 2-4 as he saw his batting average rise to .378 and Castillo also had three hits along with Rondell. In fact, on Wednesday night everybody who came to the plate had at least on hit and only struck out twice.

The bullpen continued its great pitching by again not allowing one base runner. However this time it wasn't Rincon-Neshek-Nathan, it was Reyes and Crain. Reyes came in for the eighth inning and struck 1 batter out while Crain came in for the ninth inning and pitched a 1-2-3 inning without any strikeouts.

Hillenbrand Will Soon Be Available:
Shea Hillenbrand of the Toronto Bluejays, will soon be available after he was designated for assignment on Wednesday, but the Twins should be careful when and if they look at him, they need to not over spend, but most of all they need to make sure they know who they have at third base right now and is doing almost everything right ---- Nick Punto.

Don't Miss It:
On Thursday many people will have to listen to the game in their offices, while the Twins go for the four game sweep against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at 12:10. The game isn't even on TV it will only be on WCCO as the Twins send out Johan Santana (10-5) vs. James Shields (4-3).
