Twins Finally Win

I want to start by saying that there will be posts more often, however I have been very busy so there might not be posts everyday. Also, I was at the Twins game on Sunday, and it is great to see that even through the bad, the Twins fans continue to stick in there. During the game, the fans were alive and there was almost 33,000 fans.

The game on Sunday was much different from the others in the series in which they had been outscored 16-1. This time the Twins pitched the shutout and scored all of the runs. Brad Radke continued his recent dominance as he went 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and no runs. With the win, Radke is now 12-8 on the season and now has 148 wins in his career which is just 2 shy of 150.

The Twins offense had been quiet most of the series but on Sunday they had more action as they scored 5 runs. With the Twins up 1-0, Cuddyer hit his 17th homerun of the season to give the Twins a 2-0 lead. The Twins never had an inning in which they scored more than 1 run, however they scored 1 run in 5 different innings which was enough to give them the win.

The bullpen was great as Matt Guerrier got an inning of work and struckout 1 batter. Nathan pitched the ninth inning although it wasn't a save opportunity and struckout 1 batter as well.

Wild Card Update:
Since I have posted last, the Twins have lost 2 games in the Wild Card and are now 2.5 games back from the White Sox and .5 back of the Red Sox.

Twins Notes:
Gardenhire gave Mauer a day off, so his league leading batting average stayed at .361. In the win, Jason Tyner got his 1st triple of the season and was only a longball away from the cycle. Morneau picked up 2 RBI and now has 103, Cuddyer, with his homerun now has 72. Finally, if you want to see Bartlett's spectacular play click here and go to Top Play. Don't Miss It:
The Twins will continue their homestand on Tuesday as they go against the Cleveland Indians at home at 7:10. The Twins will send out Johan Santana (13-5) vs. Jake Westbrook (9-7). The game will be on 830 WCCO and FSN North.
