Gardenhire Gets Extension


Ron Gardenhire will officially be in Minnesota through the 2009 season. The Minnesota twins have reported that they have signed him to a two-year contract extension that will add two years onto his contract that previously ran through the 2007 season.

Gardenhire Accomplishments:
- Gotten the Twins to a total of four playoff appearances.

- Won four American League Central Division Championships.

- He has a career record of 455-354 (.562).

- In 2006 he became the first manager in club history to have five consecutive winning seasons.

Other Coaches Get Extensions To:
The Twins have also signed pitching coach Rick Anderson, bench coach Steve Liddle, bullpen coach Rick Stelmaszek, third base coach Scott Ullger, hitting coach Joe Vavra and first base coach Jerry White to contract extensions that will run through the 2008 season.
