Wolves Preview: Overall Team

Starting Five:
The Minnesota Timberwolves stating five will include the following:
PG: Mike James

SG: Trenton Hassel

SF: Ricky Davis

PF: Kevin Garnett

C: Mark Blount

This lineup could change throughout the season depending on how the team performs. Expect James, Garnett, and Davis to all maintain their starting role throughout the season. There is a big possibility that Hassel and Blount will lose their starting spot to a younger person or more talented person in or outside the organization. (Hassel: McCants or Foye? Blount: Griffin or Trade?)

Bench:
The Minnesota Timberwolves bench will have a few key parts:
Randy Foye: PG and maybe SG
Eddie Griffin: Center
Troy Hudson: PG
Craig Smith: Forward
Rashad McCants: If healthy

Don't expect Marco Jaric to help out the Timberwolves this year. If Hudson can stay healthy, he could provide scoring off of the bench. Young guys such as Randy Foye, Craig Smith, and Bracey Wright could also provide scoring and in Smith's case rebounding off of the bench. If healthy, McCant could step into the starting role. However, don't expect him back until sometime around December.

Team Awards:
MVP: Kevin Garnett
Comeback Player: Troy Hudson
Sixth Man: Randy Foye
Rookie of the Year: Randy Foye
Biggest Surprise: Ricky Davis
Most Improved: Trenton Hassel

To clarify a few of these choices, here are reasons for each choice:
MVP: No need to clarify.
Comeback Player: He's been hurt and I think he will help the team outside of the arch.
Sixth Man: I think Foye will be used a lot off of the bench and will help this team in many ways.
Rookie: Foye is the obvious choice.
Biggest Surprise: Davis because I think he will play a huge part and will have a career year.
Most Improved: I think Hassel will improve his offensive game.

Predicted Record:
44-38
