Pre-Game Notes

I have some Pre-Game notes and some other things to share before the Twins kick off a homestand with the Boston Red Sox. I should have a game recap after the game tonight as well. For now, here are the notes...

- Michael Cuddyer is going to miss his third game in a row tonight. This really makes me mad because it was first thought to be just a back bruise, and it obviously wasn't. Also, I'm starting to question if we'll ever be able to see our complete team on the field this season. Every time somebody comes back, it seems as if another player gets hurt.

- One of the Twins games with the Indians in August has been moved. And here is the Press Release:

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians announced today that the originally scheduled game for Thursday, August 30 in Cleveland has been moved to Monday, August 27. The change was made to allow the Indians and Seattle Mariners to make up their postponed game from April 8 on August 30, a mutual off day for both clubs.

All three of the Twins/Indians games now scheduled for August 27-29 will begin at 6:05 pm (central).

- La Velle has some notes for today's game, and the interesting ones include:

Dennys Reyes needs at least another day off and Glen Perkins pitched on
Thursday. That means the Twins won’t have a lefty available tonight for David
Ortiz or J.D. Drew in late-game situations. Oh boy….

Cuddy needs another day or two as well, so Torii Hunter gets to put
his 18-game hitting streak on the line from the No. 4 hole tonight.

Dice-K was on the field early today running….and running… and
running…and running….and running….and running….and…
Make sure to check La Velle's blog all season for inside notes such as the ones above.

- Finally, the Twins announced today that construction on the new ballpark will begin this month. For more on the schedule, go here.

Again, I hope to have a recap up sometime tonight so make sure to check back. Go Twins!
