Game 54: Oakland A's
Well, Carlos Silva added another great start to his season stats, but for the third time this season, it ended in a 1-0 for the Twins. The offense, for the second night in a row, looked pretty bad and I'm hoping that it doesn't mean the beginning of another slump. As I just mentioned, Silva pitched very well and the Twins didn't need to use the bullpen.
Silva has pitched well all season for the most part, but has now suffered three 1-0 losses. For Silva it has to be frustrating when you pitch well game after game and continually get no run support. His final line was 8 innings, 5 hits, 1 run and 2 strikeouts. With the loss he is now 3-6 on the season but has a 3.86 ERA.
The offense was pretty bad for the second night in a row, and hopefully they will wake back up. One thing that really made me mad was the fact that we looked at pitches and struck out four times in the seventh and eighth innings.
Anyways, the bright part of the offense was the two singles by Luis Castillo and the one other hit was a single by Justin Morneau.
