Game 63: Atlanta Braves

In his last outing, Carlos Silva was knocked around and out of the game early. However, when he has been on this season, things have been really good. Tonight was one of those nights, as Silva pitched the team's second complete game, and his first complete game shutout since 2005. The offense scored early, and never looked back after the early runs in the first inning.

Carlos Silva was awesome tonight, and even got the run support for his fourth win of the season. He picked up his second complete game of the season as well, and actually has both of the team's complete games. His final line was 9 innings, 8 hits, 0 runs and 2 strikeouts. His record on the season is now 4-7, and since he had a bad outing last week, he still has a 4.07 ERA.

The offense was good tonight, and they scored first which is most important. Tonight, unlike the previous nights, the runs came mostly off of extra-base hits. Lew Ford hit his first homerun of the season, Hunter hit his fourteenth and Morneau hit his eighteenth.

Twins Notes:
- Dennys Reyes is expected to be activated after tonight's game. The word is that Carmen Cali will be sent back down to make room. I'll have more on this when it is official.

- Kubel missed the game tonight, but is expected to be ready to at least come off of the bench tomorrow night.

- Finally, the series finale will be a good one tomorrow as the Twins send out Johan Santana to face off against Tim Hudson. The game will start at 7:10 CT.
