Twins Option Cali

Well, I personally didn't think this move would last long, and I was right. After the game today, the Twins optioned left-hander Carmen Cali back to AAA Rochester. It was originally thought that he'd only be called up for the doubleheader, and that turned out to be the case.

The Twins have not made a decision on who will take Cali's spot on the roster, and have said they will make the decision later this week. However, there are two key options, and they are listed below. If you don't agree with my options, I encourage you to leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Rondell White:
White was expected to be back after the break, and everything has gone right so far in rehab. If White doesn't get injured before Thursday, I expect this to be the move.

Garrett Jones:
If White is not ready to return later this week, I think Jones would be the obvious option to take the roster spot. Actually, I think Jones deserves a roster spot either way (more on that another day, for now, look at his stats on the right sidebar).

No Pitcher:
It is almost certain that the Twins will not call up a pitcher. There is currently no need for one, and with the three day break, they shouldn't need extra bullpen help anytime soon.

Ron Gardenhire told the Star Tribune that he doesn't know what the move is going to be, but he said he knows who he hopes it is (Rondell). However, Rondell hasn't played in a full rehab game and will most likely have to before being called up.
