Game 121: Texas Rangers
The Twins kept their winning streak alive last night with an extra innings win over the Rangers 2-1. Carlos Silva was again spectacular, and the bullpen held down the fort pretty well after he left. The offense didn't take off or anything, but were going against a pretty good pitcher, and still managed to win.
Carlos Silva was awesome in his last start, allowing just two hits and no runs over seven strong innings of work. Last night, it was much of the same as he ended with a line of 7 innings, 5 hits, 1 run and 6 strikeouts. Silva again didn't get the win, but has a pretty good 4.17 ERA on the season.
The bullpen picked up the four innings that followed Silva's exit, and pitched well. Reyes picked up the first out of the eighth before giving way to Nesehk for the final two outs. Joe Nathan pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a tied game, and then Guerrier got the win after pitching a quick tenth inning.
The offense collected two runs on a total of eighth hits. Torii Hunter and Tommy Watkins were the key parts for the Twins offense as far as hits go. Each collected two, and Watkins stole his first base of his career. Rondell White picked up one of the RBI, and the other run scored on a wild pitch.
