Game 126: Seattle Mariners

The Twins were able to salvage one game of the three game series against the Mariners with an 8-4 win today. Carlos Silva put forth another good outing, and has now put up three good ones in a row. The offense scored some runs, and the bullpen was good enough to hold on for the victory. With the win, the Twins got back to .500 with a record of 63-63 on the season.

Carlos Silva has been almost unbeatable in his last two outings, and had another good outing today. Silva's final line was 7 innings, 8 hits, 2 runs and 3 strikeouts. With the win, Silva is now 10-12 on the season with a good 4.10 ERA.

The bullpen picked up the next two innings, and did alright. Pat Neshek continued his recent struggles, allowing two runs in his inning of work. Joe Nathan then came in and closed the door for the ninth with a scoreless and hit less inning of work.

The offense got some hits today, and used those hits to score eight runs. Michael Cuddyer had the big blow with a grand slam, his 13th homerun of the season. This was a part of an early lead for the Twins, as they scored seven runs in the first inning alone. Alexi Casilla tripled, and everybody else but Nick Punto collected a hit.
