Game 127: Baltimore Orioles
The Twins opened up their four game series with the Orioles in a good way tonight, collecting a 5-2 win. Boof Bonser finally picked up a victory, and also pitched through the seventh inning. The offense didn't score much through the first seven, but after that put some late runs on the board. With the win, the Twins have now moved above .500 with a 64-63 record for the season.
Boof Bonser hadn't picked up a victory in something like twelve straight starts. Well, that streak ended tonight after he got some run support, and put forth a great outing. Bonser's final line was 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run and 2 strikeouts. With the win, Bonser is now 6-10 on the season with a pretty decent 4.76 ERA.
The bullpen pitched two innings, and those innings went to Matt Guerrier. Guerrier's final line was 2 innings, 1 hit, 1 run and no strikeouts. The one run that he did allow, was a homerun in the ninth inning.
The offense score no runs through the first seven innings, but then scored four in the eighth, and one in the ninth to take the game. Jason Bartlett and Nick Punto were the two players that collected more than one hit, and Mauer, Bartlett and Kubel got all of the RBI for the game.
